Nellie recently passed away. These photos posted in honor of her. She was a fine lady, the last member of her very large family.

I worked very hard to enlarge the printing but my computer won`t co operate .  But the guest list reads like a whos who of Elbert. Mr& Mrs Henery Honosky & family, George Spychala & George Jr., Dan Spychala, Helen Toth & son Buddy Kowalski of Thorpe, Martha Jo Marshall, Susie Stone,Judy Moore, Be-Be and Carmen Martinez, Johnny,Margaret and Frankie Merguez,  Jeannette Blaha, Sandra Boyer and Sue Majerczyk. Do you remember any of those names?

Can you remember back that far it was October 30, 1943.

Don`t know what the occasion was but Pearl Rich is receiving something from President Harry Truman on Veterans Day 1957, location unknown.  Contributed by Barbara Cassell. Pearl was a cheerleader class of 1958.

They were married on June 12, 1920 at the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Gary. The Diachenko family took part in the development of Gary.         Contributed by Barbara Cassell WHS 1957.
